Why is a Care Plan Important?

At our practice, we’re deeply committed to your well-being and recovery. We believe in working closely with you, ensuring that we’re all on the same page with your intended treatment and recovery plan.

This is where a care plan becomes handy. It keeps everyone aligned and maximises the chance of success. A care plan is more than just a schedule; it’s a roadmap to your recovery. It allows us to work together, making sure that every step we take is geared towards your best possible outcome.

Ongoing Care

Our experienced team is here to support you every step of the way. As required, you will have scheduled post-operative visits with Dr Sethi, specialist nurse or a continence physiotherapist.

Quality Guarantee

Your well-being is our top priority. In the unlikely event that a problem related to your treatment needs to be corrected down the track, you will not be charged additional surgeon fees.

  • review any imaging, diagnostic reports or other documents

If necessary, additional tests will be arranged to ensure we have a complete picture of your condition.

  • Non-Surgical Approaches or

It’s quite normal to have questions or doubts, and Dr Sethi encourages you to voice them before you leave the clinic.

Preparing for Surgery

As you prepare for your surgery, it is important to be proactive to set yourself up for a smooth recovery.

Mental Preparation

Before the surgery, you should make sure that you understand

  • what the surgery involves
  • what to expect after surgery
  • what role did you play in your recovery

Surgery Preparation

Pre-op planning also involves

  • gathering information about costs (hospital fee, surgeon fee, assistant fee, anaesthetists fee)
  • Having a clear plan for stopping or continuing your medications – our office will guide you
  • preparing the home and having assistance (depending on the type of surgery)
  • preparing for success, bearing in mind that surgery comes with risks that, when they do occur, potentially compromise the eventual outcome

Day of Your Procedure

On the day of surgery, you’ll need to fast for six hours before your surgery if you are going to have a general anaesthetic. You can take regular medicine with a glass of water unless instructed otherwise.

Postoperative Hospital Recovery

Our team and hospital staff will work together to look after you.

Recovery At Home

To help you recover, we will give you information on how to manage your recovery at home. This includes:

  • What to Expect
  • Post-operative pain management
  • Movement and weight restrictions
